Pretzels. The only reason I ever wanted to go to AMC theaters as a kid. A big, soft and warm cinnamon sugar pretzel was my favorite while watching a movie. I have always wanted to have a pretzel day like on ‘The Office’. If you haven’t watched that episode, I recommend. This recipe will have you high stepping to the kitchen just like Stanley.
The First Batch
I first made these for my brothers this past weekend and used this recipe. The pretzels were good but very pale and more bread-like instead of that chewy pretzel taste.
The Second Batch
The second second batch were golden brown, chewy and better than the AMC pretzels to be honest. As you can see, all I have is one pretzel to take a picture with. That is because the other 15 I made were gobbled up before I had time to document. That alone should convince you to make these asap. I combined a recipe from Tasty and Recipesfortheholidays. The great thing about pretzels is that the ingredients are simple. You probably have them all at your home now. Which means, it will be so easy to treat your friends and family to pretzels this weekend. Maybe even make them for your momma this Mother’s Day? I have found that bread is a great way to say “I love you”. Download the recipe below and enjoy!
A Tip for Organizing Recipes
We organize all our recipes on our Google drive. We have folders like entrees, apps and dessert and also tiers. So tier one contains recipes that are our favorite and ones we use often. Tier three would be recipes we like but do not use as frequently. I highly recommend doing this especially for blog post recipes because sometimes blogs go offline. Really, Ryan is the Google doc freak but I do love it because I can just search on the google drive on my phone and find the recipe I am looking for. Also, you can add modification and comments to a recipe that you have made which is so helpful! Anyways, just a tip I wanted to pass on.
Mother’s Day Thoughts
Reminding myself this Mother’s Day weekend that the deep and aching love I feel for Davy James, Christ feels for me but so much more. It is hard to comprehend and I never truly will. So that is my prayer this weekend. That my heart would deeply feel for Jesus as he feels for me. I know that loving God most helps me love Davy James best. I pray the same for you mommas who are in the beginning of motherhood like me, trying to find balance with lots of emotions swirling.
“How Precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadows of your wings.”
Psalms 36:7
